Young Women, Our Future May Be In Your Hands
How You Can Help End an Era and Empower Yourselves in the New One
I believe that something very important for America’s future is already underway but it’s not fully visible yet.
I believe that women, and particularly young women, will be what tips the scales for Kamala Harris’s election because of outstanding turnout numbers.
As a father of two young girls, I especially want this to happen for the sake of their dreams and collective future.
To back this up with some data, in the early voting tallies where gender is tracked, we are already seeing 54.1% women vs. 43.9% men, indicating a big difference in motivation. If that holds up it will move things from a close election to a clear Kamala Harris victory.
So I want to write this article to young women in particular, who are key for turning this from a close win into a more substantial victory.
As a group, you are 33% more behind Kamala Harris than Donald Trump, which means that the more of you that turn out, the more it will tilt the election in every state towards Kamala.
A massive turnout in your demographic can defeat Donald Trump, help us end the long patriarchal era of America history, and open us to something more masculine-feminine balanced, beautiful, and whole.
As a result of playing a pivotal role in victory, you can also claim another level of collective power to design a new future, something you will bring into every decade of leadership that follows. You’ll also inspire the next generation of girls with the possibility that they can lead us still farther.
As you mobilize your collective power to help to end Donald Trump’s political career and propel Kamala Harris into the most powerful seat in the world, you will claim your power to architect an era in which women have every right, opportunity, and benefit that men do: a truly post-patriarchal America that is healthy, vibrant, and collaborative.
It begins by rallying your friends to vote in the next seven days.
Clearly, you know that this election is important. You don’t need me to tell you that. It’s not just an election about policies, it’s an election to protect fundamental rights as well as an election to end an era of history.
Simply put, putting Kamala Harris at the Resolute Desk will put a nail in the coffin of the era where you could be forced to continue a pregnancy against your will, endure sexual predation you didn’t ask for, be treated as second-class leaders, and earn less than your male peers. That era can end in a definitive way if Kamala Harris is elected.
And I think your generation, in particular, can do it.
The truth is that Donald Trump is part of a dying era where his version of offensive, predatory, and criminal masculine power could be tolerated much less embraced. That tolerance affects millions of lives downstream. Every woman (and man) in America is affected by the culture that a President fosters and toxicity is contagious.
It’s notable that Tucker Carlson said that he wants Donald Trump to treat America like little girls who need to be spanked. It’s a punishing, physically dominating, uncaring view they hold, particularly towards women.
Simply put, it’s time for these preening so-called patriarchs to be put in their place, which is not in the White House or wielding power over you. Their destiny is the dustbin of history. While they may seem powerful now, history will not see them kindly.
It’s in your grasp to create a massive groundsell of voting to make the end of an era real.
So what can you do in the last week?
In this poll, 46% of Gen Z voters say they listen to friends, family, and coworkers more than anyone else. This poll showed peer pressure to be definitive, with young people who believed their peers would be voting are TWICE as likely to vote themselves. In other words, you have more power than political parties, celebrities, influencers, and religious leaders to affect how your friends vote.
So, if you want to make history, the first step is to commit to getting every young woman you know to vote. Just focus on the women as the tilt to Kamala is high. It’s not even necessary to ask about who they are voting for, just focus on creating amazing turnout by young women everywhere. The result will take care of itself.
Mobilizing the young female vote is not a polarizing activity. Just make it the coolest thing to do and an act that every young woman is proud of.
Make personal calls and personal texts to your friends. And pass the idea to other women you know and ask them to do the same.
Create a snowball of momentum.
For this to be history-making, you’ll need to run up the score on young women’s turnout to historic numbers so that is a lead story of how this election was won for Kamala Harris.
It’s an opportunity to make history, which I sincerely hope you can do for the sake of all Americans, including my little girls who will follow in your footsteps.
This completely brought me to tears, Stephen. It is so beautifully written and such a great prediction of how truly a new era of equality can begin.
Thank you, as a man and father, for stepping up and encouraging our young women to claim the power they have to change the world; they truly do 🙏
